The Foundation Outsourced Hospitality Solutions Group has a strong commitment to the Charter of Empowerment and Transformation in the Tourism Industry

  • Bridging the current gap between school leavers and higher education with meaningful career paths.
  • Making the Industry more accessible from the ground up by deploying advanced industry initiatives aimed at empowering formerly disadvantaged South Africans.
  • Ensuring that we become more globally competitive through the adoption of International standards and best practices.
  • The Inclusion of formerly disadvantaged people in the industry through the implementation of a self managed accredited career path.
  • The creation of BEE opportunities for business development, ownership and management opportunities in an equitable and sustainable way.
  • The establishment of an effective and meaningful platform for skills development at the entry level of the industry.

The Ambassadors is a unique training programme developed by and for the Foundation Outsourced Hospitality Solutions Group and intends to create a climate where career paths in the Hospitality Industry are seen as rewarding with real opportunities for growth and development. We aim to create an environment where individual employees;

  • Embark on a journey of service excellence with a positive attitude and adequate skills.
  • Will be able to leave guests with a lasting impression of excellent, friendly service
  • Will have an actual career path that can be followed with dedication and commitment

The Ambassadors utilises a "Hospitality Passport". The passport serves to act as a travelling CV in order to record an individual's career path and special achievements in their chosen profession. The passport also doubles as a quick reference guide for employees and seeks to place ownership of personal development in the hands of the individual.

The passport contains the following records;

  • Work History - Work milestones are recorded such as hours worked in a certain facility or job position.
  • Site Visas - Once an employee has completed orientation and induction on a specific site they receive a “visa” this visa serves as confirmation that the person is able to offer a level of service that correlates to a specific sites standards and code of conduct.
  • Training Courses completed - Courses that the employee has completed are recorded; the training institution is indicated along with the date of completion.
  • Special courses - Any special awards or commendations that an employee receives are recorded.

Disciplining Misconduct Outside the Workplace - Where an employee behaves in an inappropriate manner at a work function or makes himself / herself guilty of misconduct during a work function, it may seem as though no disciplinary action may be taken by an aggrieved employer, as the employee has technically not committed the misconduct "during working hours".
